Welcome !

Welcome to the official site of Cub Scout Pack 116 Millstone Township, New Jersey! Cub Scout Flag

Our Pack is chartered by the Millstone Township Fire Company, and is in the Battleground District of the Monmouth Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Since its beginning, the Cub Scout program has been a fun and educational experience concerned with values. Besides providing a positive place where kids can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service!

Some of the best things about Cub Scouting are the activities you get to do: camping, hiking, racing in scouting derbies, going on field trips, or doing projects that help your hometown and the people who live there. Cub Scouting means "doing".

Please browse our site to learn more about our Pack, Activities and Scouting!!  If you're having trouble accessing the calendar or any attachments, make sure you are logged in to the site.  Or contact our webmaster.

Fishing Derby - June 4, 2020

Posted on Jun 2 2022 - 12:41pm

We're invited to a Fishing Derby!  This event is hosted by BSA Troop 116.  Fishing instruction will be provided by experienced boy leaders from the Troop, so no prior fishing experience is needed.

All gear, including fishing poles and bait will be provided.  Scouts may bring their own fishing gear if desired.

Scouts are encouraged to bring a friend!  All participants will be eligible for trophies and giveaways.  Lunch will be provided.  There is no fee, everything is provided courtesy of Troop 116. Also, no fishing licenses will be required for any participants, because of the NJ DEP's free fishing day. In any case, the Fishing Derby will be held at a private lake in Millstone, to avoid crowds.

Uniforms are not required, but scouts are encouraged to wear their uniform caps.  This will also allow our hosts to better identify our scouts by rank/age.

Note that this fishing site is in development, and there are no bathrooms. Participants may come and go throughout the day as necessary.

Memorial Day Parade - May 30, 2022

Posted on May 24 2022 - 12:04pm

Our Scouts are invited to march Millstone Township's Memorial Day Parade, returning this year for the first time since 2019.

Line up will begin at 8:00 am at Millstone Park, 4 Red Valley Rd.  Please meet us at Millstone Park by 8:30 am.  Roads will be closed sometime prior to the start of the parade, so it is important to get there early, so you are not stuck in a detour.

Scouts, as well as attending Adult Leaders, should be in uniform.  Please expect to walk approximately 0.7 miles along the parade route, from Millstone Park to the Veterans Memorial.

Mothers Day Weekend Plant Sale - May 7 - May 8, 2022

Posted on May 6 2022 - 9:35pm

Update -- Our Plant Sale is still on!  We will have our pop-up tents set up to help shield against the weather.  Please dress warmly.

Pack 116 Families,

We will be holding our Mother’s Day Flower sale on 5/7 and 5/8 in the parking lot across from Vesuvios’s (next to the Berkshire Hathaway office).

This event is an opportunity for the boys to contribute to their fundraising goal for the year. One of the tenets of the Scout Law is, “Thrifty” which means we want to instill in our Scouts using money and resources carefully and contributing to the cost of their Scouting adventures.

The attached sign up genius will allow for up to 4 boys for each 1 hour shift. We will also need a minimum of two parents for each shift.

The total proceeds will be divided across all boys who participate. We have made arrangements to avoid selling out as we did during the Christmas wreath event, but if this does happen – all boys who signed up will receive an equal credit of the proceeds.

Our next fundraiser will not be until November when we will repeat our wreath sale.

As always Camp Cards are available year-round for any Scouts who are falling short of their goals.

Please reach out to your Den Leaders with any questions and we hope to see all of you this weekend.

Yours in Scouting,

Bill Schlupp
Committee Chair

Welcoming our new Cubmaster

Posted on Apr 4 2022 - 10:56pm

We are pleased to welcome Mr. Brian McNamera as our new Pack 116 Cubmaster, effective March 6, 2022.  Most recently, Mr. McNamera has been the Den Leader for Den 6.

We thank Mr. Chris Weltner and Mrs. Amy Weltner for their steadfast dedication and service over the years.  As many of you know, the Weltners are continuing service with Troop 116, so our scouts will remain in great hands, throughout their scouting years.
