Welcome !

Welcome to the official site of Cub Scout Pack 116 Millstone Township, New Jersey! Cub Scout Flag

Our Pack is chartered by the Millstone Township Fire Company, and is in the Battleground District of the Monmouth Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Since its beginning, the Cub Scout program has been a fun and educational experience concerned with values. Besides providing a positive place where kids can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service!

Some of the best things about Cub Scouting are the activities you get to do: camping, hiking, racing in scouting derbies, going on field trips, or doing projects that help your hometown and the people who live there. Cub Scouting means "doing".

Please browse our site to learn more about our Pack, Activities and Scouting!!  If you're having trouble accessing the calendar or any attachments, make sure you are logged in to the site.  Or contact our webmaster.

Pack 116 Crossover Ceremony - August 21, 2020

Posted on Aug 11 2020 - 8:33am

Please join us in attending our annual Cub Scout Crossover. Crossover is an event which celebrates our Scouts accomplishments as they graduate from one rank to the next. Typically, this event is held in June, but the outbreak of the coronavirus and quarantining has prevented us from holding this on schedule. Based on safety restrictions and NJ state guidelines, this years’ event will be held outdoors.

We ask that:
• everyone wears their masks and appropriately social distances throughout the event.
• families arrive in their vehicles and park in spaces designated by Den.

Den by den, the Scouts and their families will be asked to exit their vehicles, individually stand on the Crossover bridge to receive their new rank and final awards for the prior year from our Cubmaster and their Den leaders. Pictures can be taken before returning to the vehicle before the next Den can proceed.

Additional photos can be organized and taken depending on each parent’s comfort level. While not ideal, we are committed to capturing these milestones and memories for our Pack members and believe that any social interaction that we can promote safely, fills a very crucial need for our Scouts. We ask that everyone planning to attend, register at the website so we can plan for the appropriate number of participants.

Please reach out to your Den Leader with any questions or concerns ahead of time to properly answer or address any issues and concerns that might arise.

Kickball and Pizza Party - Cancelled

Camp Cards

Posted on Jul 12 2020 - 8:36pm

This is a final call to purchase Council Camp Cards by 7/31.  The Camp Cards are an easy way to help support Pack 116 as well as Monmouth Council, at essentially no cost to the recipient.

Here's how it works.  You buy a camp card for $5.  The $5 in revenue is split between the Council and our Pack.  The card provides an instant $5 discount for groceries (minimum purchase required) at many of the surrounding area Shop-Rite stores, so you get your money back.  This is just one example, in addition there are a number of other participating local merchants covered on the card. We are indebted to our area merchants for making this program possible.

Pack Victory Garden

Posted on Jul 12 2020 - 8:08pm
7/12 Update:  The Victory Garden needs more water.  When your scout comes to help tend the garden, please water the crops more generously than in the past.  You may be able to extend the hose from the spigot, to avoid having to take too many trips back and forth with the watering cans.

As part of the new COVID-19 Monmouth BSA Cares Initiative, and a challenge to all NJ Scouts by the governor, the pack has obtained a plot in the Millstone Community Garden (next to the Presbyterian Church) to grow vegetables to donate to local food pantries.  Scouts are requested throughout the spring and summer to weed, water, harvest the vegetables, and when the time comes, possibly drop them off to food pantries in the area.
