Welcome !

Welcome to the official site of Cub Scout Pack 116 Millstone Township, New Jersey! Cub Scout Flag

Our Pack is chartered by the Millstone Township Fire Company and is in the Battleground District of the Monmouth Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Since its beginning, the Cub Scout program has been a fun and educational experience concerned with values. Besides providing a positive place where kids can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service!

Some of the best things about Cub Scouting are the activities you get to do: camping, hiking, racing in scouting derbies, going on field trips, or doing projects that help your hometown and the people who live there. Cub Scouting means "doing".

Please browse our site to learn more about our Pack, Activities and Scouting!!

Raingutter Regatta

Posted on Oct 19 2018 - 10:38am

Mark your calendar!

Pack 116's Annual Raingutter Regatta is rapidly approaching and will be held on November 17, 2018 at the Primary School. Boat kits were distributed at the October Pack Meeting. If you did not attend the meeting, please see your den leader to pick up your kit so you can begin work on your boat.

What is the Raingutter Regatta?

The Raingutter Regatta is a boat race that is designed to be a parent-child project. Please feel free to give guidance and minimal assistance to your Scout as they build their Raingutter Regatta boat, appropriate to their age. This is a chance for your child to be part of a team (you and them), and to enjoy the spirit of friendly competition with their peers. These “Official Raingutter Regatta Rules” are written to help you keep it simple and fun for your child, and to know what to expect when it comes time to race your boat.

Race Times

Lions – 9:00 am
Tigers – 9: 45 am
Wolves – 10:30 am
Bears – 11:30 am
Webelos – 12:15 pm
Arrow of Light – 12:45 pm

Pack Sweatshirts

Posted on Oct 19 2018 - 10:25am

With the cold weather approaching so rapidly, we thought it would be fun to have a pack activity shirt that could be worn and seen in the colder weather. We will be ordering sweatshirts for those who are interested. They are Navy with gold lettering and will be $25.00 each. Please let Cyndie Bailey know how many and what sizes you would need. (Remember to order a size up so they last longer for the boys.) All items will have to be paid before we can place the order.

Please email Cyndie Bailey at baileysgsp@hotmail.com with your requests or questions.

We Need YOU!!!

Posted on Oct 3 2018 - 11:57am

As many of you know, to run great programs, takes work and more hands makes for less work for all involved.

We are not asking for you to commit hours and hours every month, but please take a moment to review the list below and see if you might be able to help in some small way. We would like to delegate smaller roles to each parent so that no one is taking on a heavy burden and we can all enjoy the journey of scouting with our children; rather than feeling overwhelmed.

  • Popcorn Kernel & Assistant Popcorn Kernel (August – October only)
  • Pack Photographer
  • Outdoor Activities - help coordinate one camping trip
  • Special Events - pinewood derby, raingutter regatta, cubanapolis, Blue & Gold banquet
  • Pack Service Projects (i.e. Scouting for Food or the Soup Kitchen tasks, etc)
  • Special Outings (help coorindate a special trip - Medeival Times, Intrepid, Planetarium, etc)
  • Camp Card Coordinator (spring)
  • Den Leaders
  • Assistant Den Leaders

Our pack has been around for over 55 years and we are all very committed to making sure our Pack stays healthy and flourishes. We have increased our pack calendar to be year-round and our boys are experiencing great success as they transition to a Troop. Should you like to volunteer or have any questions about any of these positions, please see Chris, Bill or any other Committee Member. We would be thrilled to talk to you about these or any other positions you would like to help with!

Thank you.
