Welcome !

Welcome to the official site of Cub Scout Pack 116 Millstone Township, New Jersey! Cub Scout Flag

Our Pack is chartered by the Millstone Township Fire Company, and is in the Battleground District of the Monmouth Council of the Boy Scouts of America.

Since its beginning, the Cub Scout program has been a fun and educational experience concerned with values. Besides providing a positive place where kids can enjoy safe, wholesome activities, Cub Scouting focuses on building character, improving physical fitness, teaching practical skills, and developing a spirit of community service!

Some of the best things about Cub Scouting are the activities you get to do: camping, hiking, racing in scouting derbies, going on field trips, or doing projects that help your hometown and the people who live there. Cub Scouting means "doing".

Please browse our site to learn more about our Pack, Activities and Scouting!!  If you're having trouble accessing the calendar or any attachments, make sure you are logged in to the site.  Or contact our webmaster.

Pinewood Derby - Jan 29, 2022

Posted on Jan 25 2022 - 10:30am

It's Pinewood Derby time!  As in previous years, we invite Scouts as well as Non-Scouts to participate.  By now, everyone should have received their kits, and will race by Den.  Non-scouts will race in their own category.  Scouts should wear their Class A uniforms.

Please register here (for both Scouts and Non-Scout participants):

We appreciate help from any parents who are able to provide any assistance during the derby and at check in.  Volunteer assignments are listed below.

Since our Scouts will already be in full uniform, we will also hold a free photo portrait session.  Our Scouts are growing quickly and advancing through the ranks, so let's photograph them in their current uniforms.  The portrait session will be run by a parent who is an amateur photography enthusiast.  You will receive a digital image, to post or print as you wish.

Webelos Klondike Derby - Feb 5, 2022

Posted on Jan 25 2022 - 9:38am

AOL Den 5 will be participating in this winter's annual Webelos Klondike Derby.

The Klondike Derby is intended to challenge our Scouts in the basics, such as: Knots, First Aid, Fire Building, Orienteering, and Leave No Trace.  Scouts will also be judged on their teamwork while executing the challenge at each station, and also their enthusiasm while moving between stations.

The event is conducted at the District Level, so our Scouts will go up against Webelos and AOLs from our neighboring Packs, in a raucous but friendly rivalry.  Of course, will respect them, while taking first place.

Parents are welcome to observe, but will need to maintain a distance, so as to not interfere with judging at the challenge stations.  Resist the temptation to coach the Scouts, they should coach each other only.

The fee for each Webelos/AOL scout is $10, through Jan 21.  Please confirm your attendance and provide payment to your Den Leader, who will handle registration for the Den.

Please see attached flyer for what to wear, what to bring, and other details.

SOLD OUT! Holiday Wreath Sale Fundraiser SOLD OUT

Posted on Dec 4 2021 - 6:14pm

SOLD OUT!  Thank you to all scouts and parents who participated in today’s Holiday Wreath Sale.   It turns out the sale was a big success and we have sold out of all inventory.  Unfortunately we cannot obtain additional inventory at wholesale pricing on short notice.  Therefore we will conclude the Holiday Wreath Sale at this time.  Volunteers who are signed up for Sunday are released from obligation and should not show up.  Perhaps next year we will have more inventory.

This year, Pack 116 will be hosting a holiday wreath sale fundraiser on December 4 & 5th in the parking lot of Berkshire Hathaway HomeServices (across from Vesuvio's) in addition to the coffee sale fundraiser (details on that coming soon).

Below is the link to the sign-up genius to sign up for your scout's time slot. Please note that there is a maximum of 4 scouts per shift and scouts must be accompanied by a parent.

All proceeds from the sale will be divided by the number of scouts that work a shift and be credited towards their fundraising goal.

Holiday Card Drive for Senior Citizens

Posted on Nov 28 2021 - 10:55am

Mrs. McNamera has been working with the 5-help group in town (www.5help.org) since last year and every year they have great opportunities to give back. The most recent is creating holiday cards for senior citizens. She’s going to have each scout in her Tiger Den create two holiday cards to be collected and given out. Mr. McNamera will be doing this with the Webelos Den as well.

If you are interested in creating some cards, feel free to have your scout write "Millstone Township Cub Scout Pack 116" beneath their name. This shows that our Cub Scouts are just as Friendly, Courteous, Kind, and Cheerful as they have ever been, and reminds our Scouts as well!

Cards can be dropped off at the Baird Homestead, 24 Baird Rd, Millstone, NJ 08535, before 1 pm on December 11.

For Den Leaders doing this as a Den activity, read below for additional notes:
